Sandra's Success Story

Sandra had been in search of a job for six months prior to approaching Calgary Career Hub for assistance. Sandra’s husband’s work took the family to various locations and as a result, she had been living abroad and out of the workforce for 10 years.

At Calgary Career Hub, Sandra worked with her Career Advisor to identify her primary barriers to employment. These were primarily the significant gap in her professional career, writing a resume and cover letter to meet local job-market expectations, and networking through social media channels.

To help Sandra overcome her challenges, Calgary Career Hub provided her with a range of assistance such as workshops for Resumes, Cover Letters, References and Interview Skills. She also learned about Effective Communication, Networking and Self-Marketing skills. In one-on-one sessions with a Career Advisor, Sandra developed her networking strategies and job search techniques through LinkedIn sources and tools.

“I finally did it! I worked so hard at school but had a tough time getting job interviews. Calgary Career Hub provided me with the help I needed, and I am so grateful to them,” says Sandra

Other goals of Sandra’s were to improve her resume to be ATS-friendly and empower her with networking and self-marketing for her interviews.

Sandra now works as a full-time Business Intelligence Analyst.
