Anita's Story

Anita was unemployed for almost a year after moving to Alberta. Navigating a new environment without a support system was a big challenge for her. She needed help learning to network in Calgary, along with assistance in resume writing and job search tactics.

At Calgary Career Hub, Anita attended a variety of workshops.

She participated in:

LinkedIn for the Professional Jobseeker, Informational interviews, Effective Communication, Self-Marketing, Cover Letter and References, Interview Skills and Change Management. She then transitioned to working one on one with a Job Developer to support her with her job applications and introductions to employers.

“After moving to a new province, I was job hunting for a year. After working with CCH for a few months, I found the perfect job that fits my needs,” says Anita.

Anita completely engaged in all the workshops and training throughout her time in service with Calgary Career Hub. She received the help and guidance she needed to succeed in her job search. She was successful in finding a full-time job at a veterinary clinic as a Customer Care Specialist.
