Oyinlade's Success Story

Oyinlade relocated to Canada last summer in the hopes of a better life for her family. Oyinlade was active in her job search, applying to over 150 jobs once she arrived. However, she was unable to secure any job interviews. Oyinlade heard of Calgary Career Hub’s services and decided to reach out for support in her job search journey.

Oyinlade began Calgary Career Hub’s 12-week plan and started meeting regularly with a Career Advisor. Over the next three months, she received support through a wealth of workshops, resources, and 1-1 meetings with her Career Advisor and Job Developer. With the information she learned in workshops, Oyinlade was able to update her resume and build a strong cover letter. She also gained valuable information from the various workshops she attended which included Effective Communication, Self Marketing, Change Management, Networking, and more. In Job Development, the team provided Oyinlade access to employer and recruiter connections that included job leads and referrals.

Lastly, by the end of her service plan, Oyinlade had developed strong interview skills that helped her succeed when speaking with potential employers. As a result of her dedication and hard work, Oyinlade achieved employment as a Property &Casualty Insurance Account Assistant. She feels that Calgary Career Hub’s services equipped herwith the practical skills and strategies needed to handle interviews more effectively, which ultimately contributed to her personal and professional growth.
