Kristyna's Success Story

Kristyna decided to take an extended maternity leave in 2020. In the last four years she had worked on various creative contracts in Arts Management but wanted to get back to a full-time position in this field of interest. Kristyna has a master’s degree in international relations and plenty of experience, but she had been out of full-time work for some time, so she knew it would not be easy to get back into the job market. Her goal was to work in Arts Management and potentially pursue a certification in fund development, as this is a valuable skill in the field.

So, Kristyna turned to Calgary Career Hub for help.

One of the first challenges Kristyna faced was reconfiguring her resume. While she had a rich background with experience in many artistic projects, her resume was too long. Together with her Career Advisor they communicated her career highlights, capturing the most relevant skills and requirements in an economical way, and targeted her resume to each position applied for.

Kristyna accepted all the help offered by Calgary Career Hub and attended every workshop with a wonderful facilitator Jane Crowshaw. She also collaborated one-on-one with her Advisor to prepare for interviews.

While a client with Calgary Career Hub, Kristyna acquired a position of Production Manager for the IGNITE Festival. It was a short-term contract that aligned to her career goals. Soon after, Kristyna was able to land her dream job with the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra. Kristyna is now employed as a full-time grant writer and could not be happier!
