Bala's Success Story

Bala Kanchana came to Canada with more than 17 years of experience in the Information Technology field from India. Unfortunately, even with her impressive background, she did not have Canadian education or work experience. She desired to obtain a manager role in the IT sector but because of these setbacks it was challenging. It was recommended she take the Project Management Professional Certification Exam to get credentials needed for the career she wished to pursue. This certification was paid for by Calgary Career Hub and served to make her more competitive in the job market.

 Bala Kanchana is a success because, after struggling to find employment for months, she not only was able to land a job after completing her PMP, but she was also able to get a role as a Project Manager as her first job in Canada. Her commitment played a huge role in her new career as she tailored her resume to each of her job applications and applied to over 40 jobs in six weeks before landing her new position.
